Appointment Policy
Busby Medical Practice provides a flexible appointment system which has the ability to accommodate patients with urgent, non-urgent, complex, planned and chronic and preventative health care.
A scheduled visit is required for practice appointments with the exception of Saturday mornings. Every effort is made to accommodate your preferred GP and time. We ask that double appointments be made for complex problems, insurance and pre-employment medicals. If there is another family member to be seen please book an additional appointment for them.
The Practice has a policy that we will fit in a child on the day if a parent is concerned that the issue is serious. Please make sure that you clearly communicate concerns about young children to our Reception staff.
Our Practitioners endeavour to keep to their scheduled appointment times. At times Practitioners may be delayed. We apologise for this and suggest that you phone ahead of your appointment time and ask the Receptionist to check if your appointment will be on time.
Emergencies
Emergencies will always be given priority and the Practice has a Duty Doctor rostered on to manage these unexpected events. Please advise Reception if your call is of an urgent nature and Reception will triage your call appropriately.
Cancelling Appointments
Please notify us if you are unable to attend a scheduled appointment.
The Doctors request that you notify the Practice, at least one hour prior to your scheduled time, if you are unable to keep your appointment. This provides them with the opportunity to see other patients.
